Mr. Ancheta is the Firm’s Founding Partner and Managing Partner. A product of the Ateneo de Manila University (A.B.; J.D., Second Honors), he started his practice with Carpio Villaraza & Cruz (now Villaraza Cruz Marcelo & Angangco) and thereafter with the litigation department of Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz (ACCRA), where he received the elusive Excellent-rating for over-all performance.

Mr. Ancheta has extensive practice in litigation and dispute resolution, corporate and special projects, labor and employment, intellectual property, immigration, energy, water, public utilities, environment, real estate, insurance, tax, family law, and estate planning and settlement.

Many of Mr. Ancheta’s current clients have remained with him since he started his own practice in 2002, affirming his professional competence, strong work ethic, and unyielding commitment to client service.

Mr. Ancheta also advised or represented national and local leaders, executives of top corporations, and personalities in the entertainment industry.

In 2002, Mr. Ancheta served as legal consultant to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippine Government. A year before that, television network ABS-CBN made him a legal consultant for its show, Your Honor, the first legal drama series on Philippine television.

In 2009-2010, Mr. Ancheta was engaged by the Philippine Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile as Special Counsel to assist the Senate in its investigation of the ethics complaint (C-5 Road controversy) against Senator Manuel B. Villar.

Mr. Ancheta is also a law professor at the Lyceum University of the Philippines College of Law in Makati City, and at the DLSU Graduate School of Business-FEU Institute of Law also in Makati.

Mr. Ancheta hails from Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
